Simvito

How it works

An eSIM is a SIM card that downloads instead of arriving in the post. Nothing is shipped, and nothing comes out of your phone.

  1. Check your phone

Your phone needs to support eSIM and must not be locked to a carrier. Most models released from 2019 onward qualify — the device list shows which ones.

  2. Pick a plan and pay

Choose the destination, how much data you want and how many days you need it for. Pay by card or wallet; you will get a receipt by email.

  3. Scan and travel

We email your QR code within 5 minutes. Install it at home over Wi-Fi, then switch the line on after you land.

Install before you go, switch on when you arrive

Install the eSIM while you still have a stable Wi-Fi connection, ideally a day or two before departure. Installing does not start the plan.

Most plans start counting from the moment the eSIM first connects to a network in the destination country. A few plans start at first use anywhere — the plan page says which applies before you pay.

Your own number keeps working

A Simvito eSIM is a second line. Your existing SIM or eSIM stays in the phone, so you keep receiving calls and text messages on your usual number, including bank verification codes.

To avoid roaming charges on your home line, turn off data roaming for it and set the Simvito line as your data line. The exact menu differs slightly between iPhone and Android.

When the data runs out

The line stops passing data when either the data allowance or the validity period is used up, whichever happens first. Nothing renews automatically and you are never billed again without buying something.

If you need more, buy another plan for the same destination. It arrives as a new QR code and installs alongside the first.

If something does not work

The most common causes are a carrier-locked phone, data roaming left switched off for the Simvito line, or manual network selection that picked an unsupported operator.
